need you help to we can do it!!!

Hi! I’m Camille Thornton-Alson, the writer/creator of “Act-Anon”, a new six-episode web series about the members of Actors Anonymous, a 12-step program for friends and relatives of actors, directed by Courtney Cunningham.
Oh, and yes, it’s a comedy.

WHO IS CAMILLE THORNTON-ALSON?
Two years ago I graduated from the University of Washington with a Master’s degree in Acting.  While in school I was granted scholarships for Artistic Achievement, the Top Scholar Award, Provosts Honors, and the British American Drama Academy's Scholarship in rocognition of Artistic Talent.  Among the many notable faculty I have worked with include: Jon Jory, Roni Dengel and Fiona Shaw.
After graduation, I did what most actors do and moved to Los Angeles… it is after all the place where dreams are made. Shortly after my arrival in LA, I realized that all of my training and collegiate accomplishments didn’t much matter as I had a whole new education unfolding in front of me… that of being an actor in LA.
Not one to sit around and wait for life to happen, I decided to take a screenwriting class and create my own opportunities. I started studying with Pete Goldfinger, a professional Hollywood screenwriter and an amazing teacher. It was in HIS class that the idea for "Act-Anon" was born!

WHO’S DIRECTING THIS SERIES?
Courtney Cunningham, that’s who!

A native New Yorker, Courtney holds a degree in Classical Acting from Richmond University, London, England and is a graduate of the Dell 'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, California. She is co-founder of the international theatre ensemble Teatre Pape (Goteborg, Sweden), resident artist of Messenger Theatre Company (NYC) and a touring member of Faustwork Mask Theatre (Toronto). Courtney's solo adult clown show, "Burden of Poof", won numerous awards throughout the US and Canada and her highly detailed approach to comedy has drawn comparisons to Gilda Radner, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Lily Tomlin, Jim Carrey and Rowan Atkinson. She won "Best Actress in a Drama" at the 2009 Albuquerque 48 Hour Film Festival and the following year was praised in Backstage Magazine's Casting Standouts of 2010 as an actress who could "hold her own with Bridges and Brolin" for her work on the Coen brothers' remake of "True Grit". After directing theatre in NYC for many years, Courtney made the switch to film shortly after moving to LA. Her film directorial debut, "The Bed Bug Thing" was an official selection of 7 U.S. film festivals and won a variety of awards including "Best Romantic Comedy" at the Atlanta Shortsfest.

WHAT EXACTLY IS "ACT-ANON"?
"Act-Anon" takes a comical look at how the friends and relatives of actors cope with the insanity of being in relationships with such a unique breed of human beings. Each episode highlights a particular 12-step member’s story.
"Act-Anon" is inspired by Al-Anon, a 12-step program for friends and relatives of Alcoholics. In this series, the addiction to alcohol is replaced by the addiction to acting, which for most LA actors, is equally as consuming and, to their friends and relatives, equally as crazy making.

WHY A WEB SERIES?
"Act-Anon" originated as an idea for a feature film, but it was soon obvious that a web series was a much more suitable format. The web is an easier, more accessible venue to see and be seen, especially for people starting out in LA. It’s also the best way to build an audience, which will help us reach our goal of getting the attention of such Internet companies as HULU, Netflix and Google to sponsor the creation of more seasons of "Act-Anon."
A web series is also a great way to create opportunities for new talent. We want this series to create a new voice for actors… to celebrate AND poke fun at what actors and their partners endure in this crazy business.
Ultimately, our goal is to entertain. To create a well polished, heartfelt and FUNNY web series that tells a great story about everyday people figuring out how to get by.

WHO ELSE IS ON BOARD?
Courtney Cunningham brings with her a seasoned crew of professionals including: Joey Liew, Director of Photography who will be fresh from the set of the final season of “Breaking Bad”; and Dominic Garcia, Assistant Director, who has recently landed in LA to work on a new pilot after working in New York on the new series “Deception”.
Stay tuned for more cast and crew updates…. Casting begins in a few short weeks!

WHAT WE NEED…
$10,000. Yes, $10,000.
We’ve been blessed with amazing industry professionals jumping on board this project, willingly working for a tiny percentage of what they normally make. Even still, we need to raise $10,000 to cover various production costs like: actors, crew, editing, equipment rentals, location fees and permits, insurance, food and marketing.
Which brings us to…

INDIEGOGO’S FIRST (as far as we know it) $10 CAMPAIGN…
Out of respect for YOU, the times we live in and the fact that this probably isn’t the first donation request you’ve received this month, we are asking you for only $10.
Yes, we know that might sound crazy…  but we believe $10.00 is enough.  $10.00 is perfect… couple that with the energy of thoughts speeding forward and $10.00 can become $10,000 in no time!

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU…
1. Please click the button to your right and donate $10.00 to fund our web series. We know it is a HUGE risk to ask for such a seemingly small amount. BUT, if enough people donate $10, we will undoubtedly reach our goal. That’s where step 2 comes in….
2. Please forward this campaign to everyone you know! Post it on facebook, twitter… email it to your friends and family. If everyone who donates forwards this to even three people, and they forward it to three more, and they… well, you get the point. Your $10.00 can and WILL make a huge difference!!!

“BUT, WAIT… I WANT TO DONATE MORE THAN $10.00!!!”
Great! Underneath our $10.00 button, you’ll see a “SURPRISE US” button. This is for anyone willing or able to donate more than our requested amount.

WHAT DO YOU GET IN RETURN?
Besides our undying gratitude and the knowledge that you’ve helped turn our dream of creating this web series into a reality, YOU will get a special shout-out on our "Act-Anon" website, as well as a thank you on facebook and twitter.
For those who choose to surprise us with a larger donation, well, you will get a surprise in return… but you’ll just have to wait to find out what that is. The surprise works both ways!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! PLEASE PASS THIS ON!
